8th March

7th March

Today we discovered the true meaning of procrastination, and it was great. A lazy morning with a bowl of all bran which is dusgusting, seriously it tastes just like rabbit food and i really had to struggle to finish it. Worst still we still have a box and a half between 3 of us to go through! Then it took us about 4 hours to plan the rest of our trip and book our dates for going down the coast. Who would have thought that travelling would need so much organisation, but alas as the oz exp is sooo popular it gets booked up quite quickly but all good as eventually i did it and we got all the dates that we wanted. Even better we've realised that we're going to be at Bondi beach for both mine and law's birthdays.

It was soo hot today, but luckily the sea breeze made it bareable the only annoying thing is that the sea is right there and it looks so tempting but you can't go into it as its stinger season and box jellyfish and paralyse you. So i don't think i'm going to be trying that, but once we get past Rainbow beach we can go into the water so yay.

6th March Magnetic Island

Our first day on the Oz experience and its already classier than the Baz bus, we have a/c and a tour guide!! I don't know what to expect now for the Kiwi experience as that's supposed to be even better, maybe a butler on board? So it was a really early start as we had to be at the pick up by 7am, however considering i'm a backpacker thus far i've really not carried my bag very far. The people on the bus all seem really nice and the four of us (Law, Debbie, Sibohan and me) managed to change our booking so that we don't bother with Mission beach.

On the journey we stopped at a crocdile farm but as we're going to the Steve Irwin zoo we didn't pay to do the tour round the cages, quite good as we finally realised why they say March is thier wettest month as it chucked it down and we were say under a tin roof with tea on tap. Just chatting away to the bus driver and gossiping with the girls I suddenly felt something land on my shoulders and it was really heavy and a bit slimy, yup it was another python!! Not really what your expecting when your just chatting away, but it was soo cool, quite heavy but the snake was soo big. It was all good but after a while he did get a little tight round my neck, that was my que to hand him over.

Back on the bus and debbie and i thought that it would be boring to sit together so we sat either side of the aisle with a seat in between free for us to lure our new friend into, and thats how we met Blake, poor sucker!!

Magnetic Island is quite nice we got here about 4 after taking the ferry and are staying at base backpackers. Its right on the beach with a huge deck and a swimming pool that is more like a large bath (weird when you think that your taking a bath with the rest of the hostle.). I could get used to this life. We had quite a late night but all in the name of getting to know your fellow travellers as i reckon we will all be going down the coast at a similar rate.
